Rain Boy Fine Art: From One Sampled Location to 105
Rain Boy Fine Art is a contemporary gallery in Tulsa showing Native American and contemporary work. Galleries compete for attention with museums, framers and big-box retailers, and most of their visitors are deciding where to go nearby. Being findable in Google Maps matters more than it does for most businesses.

The situation
The gallery was effectively invisible in local search. A scan across a grid of 169 sampled locations over Tulsa found it in the top three from exactly one of them. Its average position across the grid was about #19, which means it did not appear in the first twenty results from almost anywhere in the city.
For a gallery, that is the whole problem. Someone searching for an art gallery in Tulsa is deciding where to spend an afternoon, and that decision is usually made from whatever Google shows first.
What we did
- Built a website that shows the work properly, with the gallery, the artists and the visiting details where someone deciding to visit would look for them.
- Aligned the website with the Google Business Profile, so the business details and the way visitors are pointed to the gallery agree in both places.
- Updated citations across the internet so the gallery's name, address and phone are consistent wherever they appear.
- Rebuilt the content around what someone choosing where to spend an afternoon actually wants to know, researched for this market rather than written to a template.
What changed
On the same grid, same spacing and same search, the gallery went from the top three at 1 of 169 sampled locations to 105 of 169. Average position across the grid improved from about #19 to about #5.
The coverage is strongest across the west and center of Tulsa and thins toward the eastern edge of the grid, which is what you would expect: local results favor proximity, and no amount of work makes a gallery the closest option everywhere.
Why this is a fair comparison
Both scans covered the same 13 × 13 grid of sampled locations at the same spacing, for the same search. That makes them directly comparable point for point, which is not true of every before-and-after you will see in this industry.
The grids below are redrawn from the original scans, preserving the sampled locations and the recorded rankings, using the rank tracker's own color scale.
